Job Description: Deep Dirt Institute (DDI) is looking for an energetic and committed part-time Education Intern to develop, outreach, and coordinate permaculture education programming and research and write education grants. The position is sponsored by partner organization Borderlands Restoration Network, and primarily serves Deep Dirt Institute. This position reports directly to the DDI Executive Director and works closely with the DDI Program Director and Board Chair.
Hours: 6-month position, starting late January or early February, 2020. This is a 20 hours per week hourly position. Hours are flexible and include occasional evening and weekend work. Outside of work hours, there will be opportunities to volunteer on site to gain a hands-on permaculture learning experience.
Compensation: $13/hour, including paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the organization’s policies. Employment is subject to termination at the discretion of DDI executive director and board.
Location: Deep Dirt Institute is based in Patagonia, AZ. Most work is computer-based and can be done off site. Some work occurs on site at Deep Dirt Farm. There is no administrative office. The Education Intern should live in Patagonia or close enough to interact regularly with staff, students and partners in the area.
